AeroTech Bonding - Vacuum Bonding
Special Adhesives + Process + Materials = Superior Wear Resistant System

AeroTech is an advanced bonding technology that combines specialty structural adhesives, wear resistant materials and controlled processing.  Applications at high speed or requiring high reliability, impact resistance, and wear protection are ideal candidates for AeroTech Bonding solutions.  Valuable features of AeroTech Bonded materials include:

  • Increased effective impact resistance of hard wear resistant ceramics and carbides
  • Unparalleled performance in high speed and dynamic applications
  • Proven performance in light weight designs with ceramic lining as thin as 1/32” - .8mm thick
  • Allow for lining of existing equipment and complex shapes without redesign
  • Application of ceramics and carbides to a wide variety of sub-straights including aluminum, fiberglass, mild stainless and AR steels.
  • The ability to machine bonded linings to tight tolerances of  .001” / .025mm
  • Extremely high reliability in critical processes

AeroTech Bonding allows our design engineers greater freedom to extend the use of advanced wear resistant materials including alumina and silicon carbide ceramics and tungsten carbides.  In weight sensitive applications, AeroTech Bonded thin ceramic tiles can replace common abrasion resistant steels and weld overlays. These linings are 40% less dense than AR steel actually reduce a component’s weight while improving wear life 3x-10x depending on the environment.  In many instances, where impact is a concern, AeroTech’s shock-absorbing bonding layer allows hard wear materials to be used in extreme stress environments not suitable for traditional installation methods. Commonly we create hybrid solutions of our high performance AeroTech Bonded ceramics with Brazed Tungsten Carbide.  When wed with the superior impact resistance of Brazed Tungsten Carbide this hybrid solution can protect equipment in the most hostile environments.   AeroTech Bonding is an ideal solution in many tough applications such as Rotary Airlocks and Feeders, Exhauster Fans, High Efficiency Fans, Screw Conveyors, Pump Housings, Coal Pulverizer Components, Mixer Blades, and Pug Mill Paddles. A more comprehensive list is shown below and also indicates the materials typically replaced by AeroTech Bonded materials.
